Sleepless in Tooele

I have a night job at the Holiday Inn Express in Tooele, UT. It's a great job! I really do enjoy working for that company. I think that a hotel quite possibly could be one of the most fun places to work for someone my age. It works out very nicely.

My hours are from 11:00PM-to 7:00AM. This makes it possible for me to work all night, sleep during the morning, and then have another part time job in the afternoons at a grocery store here called Macey's. Unfortunately, as of late, I've been having trouble sleeping in the mornings. Although I have been sleeping in the afternoons very well.

I worked at the Holiday Inn last night, got home around 7:30 this morning, and still haven't gone to sleep. It's now 11:10 AM and I work at Macey's today from 3-9. My guess is that It's probably not going to be a very happy, bubbly day for me at work. On top of all this, I have to walk to work! My sister, Laura, is taking the car into SLC today and our other car is in the Holiday Inn's parking lot with a wiring problem in the engine. Great.

Religious Truth

Announcing to the World.

Have you ever wondered which church to join? So have I. I have an essential discovery to share with you.

God, the Father, and our Savior, Jesus Christ, has appeared and called a prophet of God to lead this world. Come find out for yourself and hear the account of what is being called "The First Vision." I have heard it from a man named Hyrum Smith, the brother of the Prophet of God. I implore you to come and feel the prophets spirit. His name is Joseph Smith Jr., Son of Joseph Smith Sr. I know with a great knowledge that this did happen. God's Church is BACK! Hallelujah! Praise the God Almighty.

Okay, now this is not something entirely accurate. This is something that I would have written if I lived in the early 19th century when I heard about "The First Vision." Although the personal aspects of the story aren't true. Everything else is.

God loves us very much. God wants us to be happy. We are His children and we are created in His image. He has blessed us with the ability to communicate with Him through prayer. He wants us to be happy and live a rightous life and because He loves us, He has created a plan for us that is centered on His Son, Jesus Christ. In this letter above that I wrote for fun, I said that God has called a prophet again, just like he has since the world began, First, Adam, then Enoch, followed by Noah, Abraham, Moses, then God's only begotten Son, Jesus Christ who Atoned for my sins, for your sins. Jesus Christ came to this earth to restore the church. He organized His Church and taught the gospel. Every time Gods authority was on the Earth, it was called a dispensation. Jesus Christ brought about another dispensation. Another thing Christ did with setting up His church is he called apostles and gave them authority to preach and perform ordinances, such as baptism. Christ completed the Atonement and was crucified. When His authority, or His church, was lost from the earth, it was called an apostacy. Apostacy usually came because of prophets and apostles being killed. During the time of Christ, he was crucified and his apostles we killed. Just like before, the world went into another apostacy. Because of the knowledge I have about God.. and how much He loves me, and every one of His children, I know that God wouldn't have his children in the dark for forever. He would bring his church back. The way He would do this, would be to call another prophet, just like all the other times. This boy that I spoke of above, Joseph Smith, well, one day, in the Spring of 1820, he was reading in his bible, James 1:5, which reads, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." At the time, he was trying to decide which church to join, he read this passage of scripture and knew exactly what he needed to do.. Ask of God. Joseph Smith did this. He went to a grove of tree's near his house in Palmyra, New York and did just that. As he was praying, he recieved a glorious vision, where The Father and The Son appeared to him. Joseph Smith accounts what happened, he said, "I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me. . . . When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!" He saw God. He saw His Son, Jesus Christ. In the Vision, he was told to join none of the churches and that "they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof." God's true church is back on the earth again everyone. It is called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know for myself that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that there is a prophet on the earth today, President Thomas S. Monson. Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon. I know this book to be the word of God. I have prayed about all of this and it is true! It is so true! It makes me happier than anything else in the entire world. I do emplore all of you to look into the church, talk to some missionaries, and then do just like I did... just like Joseph did... Pray. Ask God if it's true. I love God and trust Him. He will let you know if it's true or not if you ask him with a sincere heart and real intent.

I chose this to be my first entry in my blog because this is what is most important to me in this life. Jesus Christ is my Savior, He atoned for my sins and through Him I can be made clean. His church is here. It is true. I say these things, in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
